Finally finally, the WATCHES & WONDERS post is out. I have been waiting for the fashion weeks to end until I can post this out to get a peep inside of what I did inside the exhibition. This event was not open to public, and you must be invited to get in. Different timepieces are being displayed inside the exhibition and some of rare pieces are even on their premiere, you will also be invited to learn how to paint the dials and also learn the basic history from each of the watchmakers. :) I am so excited to be invited.
Just a little information for you all and in case you don't know what exhibition this is:
Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie hosted their first ever watch exhibition in Asia titled Watches and Wonders. Linking Europe to Hong Kong, there were 13 elite watchmakers participating at this event. These include Audemars Piguet, Cartier, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget, Richard Mille, Vacheron Constantin and Van Cleef & Arpels. Alongside displaying their latest creations, the exhibition was also a celebration and recognition of collectors that were passionate of the mechanisms and craftsmanship behind these rare timepieces. The Maisons shared the values, history and the making behind their watches. An entire area had been set aside for this very purpose, where artisans and professionals demonstrated the 40 different specialties involved in the making of a fine watch. Similarly, there were a Mastery of Time display, which traced the history of timekeeping through time — right from sundials to wristwatches.
I had so much fun with this machine, which I can turn the parts and components of the tourbillons and explore each mechanics inside.
