BEAUTY | HOW TO : Rag and Bone’s graphic retro eye makeup

Rag and Bone’s collection was a mix of opposing elements giving us this feminine yet still androgynous look. That being said, Gucci Westman, the Global Artistic Director of Revlon, created a beauty look that’s a mix of the old and new. The result is makeup that would fit a modern day Edie Sedgwick. Get the steps for this graphic retro eyeliner look after the break.

To give the skin a pale tinge and a more even appearance, Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer was applied. While this product is mainly a primer you can skip using foundation if you don’t need much coverage on your face. If you think it’s not enough apply an even coat of foundation over it and concealer in areas that need extra coverage. Just keep in mind that the skin has to look natural. Remember, priming your skin before applying make up keeps it healthy by keeping it hydrated and helps make up stay longer.

Thick and almost bushy looking brows are a part of this look. To do this, take an eyebrow pencil and fill your eyebrows in short upward strokes (as if you’re drawing on strands of hair). Build this up until your brows look strong and squarish. You can also use eye shadow and a brush to do this. No need for your brow to look clean, but they have to look naturally thick.

You’ll only need two things for your eyes and the first one is liquid eyeliner. Make sure you use a waterproof one like Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen to keep it from smudging. On the socket of your eye (below your brow and above your crease), draw a line starting from about half an inch from the inner corner of your eyes going to the outer corner of your eye. Follow your socket so that it creates a curved line and then extend this line about half an inch from your the outer corner of your eyes.Having the line further in and further out gives it a more modern feel to it.

The second thing you need for your eyes is mascara. Make your eyes brighter and bigger by curling, then applying a good amount of mascara on your upper and lower lashes.

The cheeks don’t need much because the main focus of this look are the eyes. All you need to do is to apply some blush on the apples of the cheeks. It has to look natural so be careful not to apply too much.

Keeping the focus on the eyes, the lips are coated with a nude shade of matte lipstick.
